1982-1999
Steffi Graf is widely considered one of the greatest female tennis players of all time. The German champion achieved the 'Golden Slam' in 1988, winning all four Grand Slam tournaments and the Olympic gold medal in the same calendar year - a feat never accomplished before or since in singles tennis. Graf's powerful forehand, speed, and mental fortitude earned her 22 Grand Slam singles titles and 377 weeks as world No. 1, a record for both men and women.
